Day 20: A Reflexion of Introspection and Hope

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.” – Martin Luther King Jr.

I’ve been exploring the human experience through my art. And…i guess today’s piece is no exception.

‘Introspection’ represents the moments we all face, where we’re confronted with our problems, fears, concerns or challenges, whatever it may be.

While we sit on those uncertainties, darkness often surrounds us. We’ve all been there- feeling overwhelmed and uncertain. It’s easy to get caught in that dark cloud, feeling like we’re stuck with no way out.

But then there’s the light. A beacon of hope in the distance, reminding us that we’re not alone, and there’s a way forward. Wether it’s nature, God, a friend or new goals, the light reminds us the importance of being patient while navigating life’s challenges.

I believe we often sit on our problems, knowingly or unknowingly. Until we acknowledge our fears and challenges, the darkness surrounds us. But by acknowledging our struggles and taking the time to reflect on our thoughts, emotions, and experiences, we can begin to move forward.

“Retrospection” is a reminder that hope is always present, even in the darkest moments. It’s an invitation to slow down, reflect, and trust that the light will guide us through.

What do you see in this piece? How do you interpret the boy, the block, and the light?

If this is your first read, welcome! If not, tell me what you think of this retrospect series so far- should I keep going?
