Day 25-Spread Love and Kindness -one Hug at a Time

“A hug is a handshake from the heart.” – Unknown

What’s better than hugging trees? (If you missed it, check out my painting from day 8th!)

For me, one of the best feelings in the world is sharing a warm, genuine hug with someone.

There’s something special about a real hug – the kind that’s not just a quick, casual squeeze. I’m talking about a heart-to-heart hug that makes you feel heard and connected.

The nerdy stuff: Did you know that hugs are more than just a feel-good gesture? They’re actually good for your mental, physical, and emotional health. When we hug, our bodies release endorphins and oxytocin, which can boost our mood, reduce stress and anxiety, and even strengthen our relationships.

The science says we should aim for hugs that last at least 10 seconds to reap the most benefits. I dare you to try it! (Let me know how it goes.)

I love hugs. I’ve got a solid handshake for those who prefer it, but given the chance, I’ll always opt for a warm hug. It’s a simple way to show love, kindness, and compassion.

I wish my mom was still here to share hugs with me, but Since she isn’t, I’ll keep spreading love and kindness from the two of us – one hug at a time.

What about you? Are you a hugger?

  1. I am hugger, I often wish my brother was as well. I have friends who genuinely hug and those who go through the motions. But my brother and I have hugged maybe 3 times in life 😕 I’m 54 and he is 59.

  2. Funny how it goes huh? It’s the same for me. Little hugs at Christmas and that’s about it. Maybe we should both try to force on a long hug with our siblings?
