Day 5

So, I kind of forgot that back in November, I signed up for a class through Kara Bullock art: “Let’s Face It”, is a year long program with over 30 different artists exploring human faces in different styles, mediums, etc. A different tutorial comes out every week.

First lesson came out today and I liked the featured artist style so l dove right into it- right after I finished a quick anatomy study – of course- as I promised I would for this 31 days challenge.

As I have mentioned before, I am a self taught artist and never really experimented further than acrylic and oil. I think deep inside, I know there’s a deeper greatest artist in me that’s ready to explode. I just don’t know what it is yet. So I guess 2026 is going to be a year of art exploration and see where I can take my art.

Here’s today’s work:

Anatomy study: a little sketch from a book my bf got me for Christmas- Morpho, simplified forms by Michel Lauricella. Which I don’t find simplified at all!! 😳

Let’s Face It:

Week 1 of Let’s Face it: This is an intuitive drawing (although i followed the instructor), with soft pastels, charcoal and led.

I have never worked with pastels before but do have a few in my studio with limited colors and shades. I also don’t have any fixatives in my supplies so it got a bit messy. I might play around with it more after I get some.

It’s interesting to follow other artist and explore their process.
