Day 1 of 31
January marks the start of my third year joining Denise Hopkins Fine Art’s 31 in 31 challenge. For 31 days, I’ll be creating a new painting every day.
This journey is about commitment, growth, and creative exploration. I’ll be following my intuition and seeing where it takes me – i’m not sure if I’ll have a predetermined theme… just art from the heart. But for now… I’m thinking about the innocence of living. The everyday life. And I want to be loose in my technique- focus on impressionistic style.
This first of 31 is “Soar”

This piece embodies my 2025 mantra word, ‘SOAR.’ (Inspired by my friend Jason Cyrus). It represents my desire to rise above challenges, explore new heights and achieve greatness. It inspires freedom, empowerment, and limitless possibilities.
This painting will serve as a reminder to stay focused on my goals and dreams, to keep pushing forward, and to trust in my ability to soar.
I invite you to reflect on your own word or mantra for the year. A single word will stick way longer than whatever new year’s resolution you have. One positive word. Your mantra. Please share with me what it is… and what does it mean to you.
Lets make 2025 the best year of our lives!!
