Those eyes weren’t planned

Those eyes weren’t planned. But the minute they appeared I knew she was done telling me who she was going to be.

This piece started as a commission. The ask was simple and not simple at all- paint Confidence. Something that says I am not to be messed with. Power. The kind that doesn’t need to announce itself.

I don’t usually paint without a reference photo. It makes me nervous. So I decided to paint two versions and thought- f*k it, just paint, be loose, have fun. One for the client, one for wherever it needed to go.

The client chose the other painting. And this one stayed on my wall.

Black and white with just the quietest whisper of color. Her hair flows free, uncontained, untamed. Flowers woven in like they grew there because power without softness isn’t the whole story. She’s got her head high, knowing her worth.

When I look at her in person she owns the room. And I’m right there beside her, proud of her in a way that surprised me.

She’s framed and available. If she feels like yours, come find me in the comments or send me a DM.
