The storm isn’t the forecast

I made a decision this year that took my life in a different direction.

I took a teaching job. I picked 7th grade… full load, every subject, including the ones I don’t feel solid in.

At the time it felt right. I told myself it was instinct. Looking back, I think part of it was wanting to feel needed. Looked up to. Appreciated.

I didn’t know what it would cost.

There’s no time left in the day anymore. I come home with nothing left to give to a canvas. The thing that actually makes me feel like me has been sitting untouched for weeks.

Maybe I’m just in the storm right now, and the storm isn’t the whole forecast.

But right now, tonight, this is what’s true. I’m not writing this for advice. I just needed to say it out loud. 🫶🏼

  1. Teaching is a daily demanding profession that requires lots of time to properly prepare for each day. Do not lose your creative desires but try to find a way to include them in small ways when time permits….a simple pencil sketch will soothe the soul.

  2. I Love you! Proud of you for opening yourself up to your truth 🙏💕 I trust you will weather this “storm” in your own special way. Just remember what you need to be fulfilled is what your whole being needs. You’re awesome my beautiful friend.
