What stayed with me

The older I get, the more I appreciate slow. 🐢

Not because I have more patience than I used to. Mostly because life has a way of reminding you that rushing rarely changes the outcome.

This little turtle came from that feeling. ❣️

One step at a time, 8×8, acrylic, 2024

I painted this little painting a few years ago in shades of turquoise and truthfully, I don’t remember much about the day I painted it. Some pieces stay attached to a specific memory. This one doesn’t.

What stayed was the meaning.

Turtles move at their own pace. No hurry. No panic. Just one step at a time.
I’ve always liked that.

Sometimes…or quite often… it feels like everyone is racing toward something.
Bigger.
Faster.
More.
Meanwhile, some of the best things in life seem to happen when you stop fighting the timeline and simply keep moving forward.

One step. Then another.
The journey still gets you where you need to go. 🌈

If this little turtle speaks to you, it’s available. Send me a message or leave a comment. 😊
