It’s easy to complain about the rain.☔️
It’s harder to find the good in it.
I painted a woman dancing in a street, between big buildings, in the rain. Her dress is moving with her like it’s part of the dance. The colors are bold, a little wild, reflecting off the wet ground.
Funny thing is, I’m not a city person. Never have been. I’m a small town girl – give me quiet, give me trees 🌲 give me space. I put her between those buildings just so I’d have more surfaces to throw color onto. That’s the only reason.
But the rain part, that one’s real. 🌧️

I try to go through life looking at the bright side. Not because it’s natural, it’s not always. It’s a choice I make on purpose, over and over. Rain can ruin a day, or it can be something to dance in. Same rain. Different way of seeing it.
That’s what this painting is. Not the city. Not even really the dress.👗
Just …choosing joy, even when it’s pouring.
I called it “Pure Joy.”
